In the 19th Century, Cal Quico was very different. Not only has the property itself changed, but what goes on there has as well. In the beginning, the family business consisted of planting and selling grapes to other wineries in the region. Then, in the ’80s, Quim decided that Cal Quico possessed all of the necessary elements to produce its own organic wines. And thus, Fargas-Fargas was born.
Cal Quico
Jean Giono said “you can get to know a person by studying his or her surroundings”. We’ve been surrounded by these vineyards ever since Quim Fargas’s great grandfather founded Cal Quico almost two centuries ago.
We wake up each morning to the views of Montserrat mountain. We walk through our vineyards every day, making sure that each grape variety has the perfect condition for producing each of our wines. But what’s most important to us is knowing that the work we do gives back to the land that provides us with so much on a daily basis.
We are Quim and Rosa
It was always clear to us that this is more than just a winery, which is why we decided years ago to open our home to people from around the world who wanted to discover us and the way we produce our wines. Should you ever find yourself closeby and curious, please don’t hesitate to stop by. We never turn down a chance for some good conversation over a glass of wine.
